Tremor Media Secures Investment from SAP Ventures
Investment validates Tremor Media’s market leading video advertising technology. Companies look to collaborate on solutions for major media companies in both the US and Europe.
NEW YORK – August 25, 2009 – Tremor Media, the largest online video advertising network and provider of the market-leading Acudeo video monetization platform, today announced that it has secured a strategic investment from SAP Ventures, a division of SAP AG. The investment will enable the company to increase its video product development efforts to provide deeper technology solutions for both publishers and advertisers.
“SAP is one of the biggest and most reputable technology companies in the world. This investment validates Tremor Media’s technology accomplishments, an important differentiator which drives value for our advertiser and publisher partners,” said Jason Glickman, CEO of Tremor Media. “Acudeo, our industry leading video monetization platform, has proven to be the most robust and flexible technology solution on the market. Tremor Media and SAP are aligned in our focus to deliver scalable technology solutions for the world’s leading media companies. There is significant overlap in our current customers and prospects, and we look forward to working with SAP to explore joint technology collaboration.”
“Tremor Media has proven to be the leader in the high-growth video ad network space” said David Hartwig, partner at SAP Ventures. “Our team was extremely impressed with the technology platform that Tremor Media has built and the value it provides to their publisher base. The incredible revenue growth that the company has experienced along with their roster of blue-chip brand advertisers, reinforced our investment rationale for backing the market leader in one of the most attractive digital sectors.”
Earlier this year Tremor Media raised an $18MM Series C round to accelerate its product development and international expansion. The company has raised more than $40MM to date from blue-chip investors including Meritech Capital Partners, Canaan Partners, Masthead Venture Partners, and European Founders Fund. In June, Tremor Media unveiled its new vChoice family of ad formats powered by its Acudeo technology which has been integrated into more than 900 publishers. vChoice is a suite of interactive in-stream ad formats that enable non-linear interactive viewing experiences inside the player.
